Planted Tank Gear uses privacy-friendly analytics (Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights) to count page views and measure loading performance. Query strings and URL fragments are removed from page-view and performance event URLs before they are sent. Vercel may receive the external referring page when a browser provides one under its referrer policy, along with ordinary connection data such as an IP address and user agent.

We also count aggregate Amazon-link clicks and calculator actions. Those custom event fields are limited to the page path, product ID or Amazon ASIN, CTA placement, page type, tank-size band, and the categorical setup choices shown in the calculator. They do not include exact tank volume, exact temperatures or fixture length, destination URL, tracking tag, CTA text, query strings, referrer fields, names, email addresses, or free-form text. These measurements are cookieless. We do not fingerprint visitors.

Setup links created by the calculator keep the exact setup after the# in the browser address. Browsers do not send that fragment in an HTTP request. Older setup links that put values after ?remain readable for compatibility; opening one can expose those values to hosting request logs before the page replaces it with the fragment format.

Page typography is loaded from Google Fonts. A browser request to Google can include ordinary connection data such as an IP address and user agent; Google's privacy terms govern that request.

Our hosting provider (Vercel) collects aggregate request metrics (country, device type, response status) as part of its service. We do not have access to individual visitor identities.

Product links on this site point to Amazon.com. Amazon's privacy policy governs any data collected after you click through. We pass a partner tag that identifies our site as the referring source; we do not receive identifying information about specific purchases.
